Load stories: real flatbed moves, by customer type

These are 8 real flatbed case studies from Fission's order history, late February to mid March 2023, written up by customer type with no names. Each one shows the lane, the trailer, how the freight was secured, how the border went and what the shipper got. Load counts are delivered loads; weights are as dispatched.

What they have in common

  • One truck from dock to dock. Nothing was cross docked at the border or anywhere else.
  • Coil racks, timbers, chains and straps on every truck, with a recheck of the tie downs within the first 80 km.
  • Dispatch filed the ACE or ACI eManifest before the bridge on every cross border load. The customs broker was always the shipper's or receiver's.
  • Full loads rode at or near tandem weight, 45,000 lb of freight at 80,000 lb gross, on both sides of the border. Heavier pairs went on a 6 axle.
  • Every load had its own Samsara tracking link.

Send the pickup, the delivery, the commodity, the weight and the date, or a lane sheet with loads per month. Dispatch names the trailer with the price within 1 business hour, 7 am to 5 pm ET, and answers at (905) 799 7900, press 1, 24 hours.

Questions shippers ask

Are these real loads?

Yes. Every story comes from Fission's own order records for late February to mid March 2023. Shippers and receivers are described by type and never named, and no rates appear.

Why are there no customer names?

We do not name customers in public. The type of plant, the lane, the weights and the trailer tell a shipper what they need to know.

Can Fission run a lane like one of these for us?

Send the pickup, the delivery, the commodity, the weight and the loads per month. Dispatch prices it within 1 business hour, 7 am to 5 pm ET, Monday to Friday.
