The same Hamilton mill that sent 47 loads west in March 2023 had 27 delivered east in the same stretch, February 27 to March 15, up to 6 a day: 14 to a processor in eastern Pennsylvania, 6 to central New Jersey and 7 to the Mahoning Valley in Ohio. Fission ran them through Buffalo, 1 to 3 coils a truck, every lane inside our next day radius.

The ask
The east lanes ran on the same carrier as the west loads, so the dock saw one set of trucks and one dispatcher.
How the coil rode
One to 3 coils for Pennsylvania at up to 44,230 lb, 2 for New Jersey at 41,150 to 43,250 lb and 1 coil for Ohio at 32,280 to 41,877 lb, each in racks on beveled timbers with chains through the eye. Mixing coil counts per truck kept every load at or under 45,000 lb at 80,000 lb gross, the tandem limit in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Ohio.

The lane crosses at Buffalo with the ACE eManifest filed before the bridge. The Pennsylvania and New Jersey plants run Interstate 90 across New York and down Interstate 81, about 700 to 790 km.
