Machinery and dies transport, plant to plant
Out of Mississauga, Fission Logistics moves stamping dies, presses, robots, machine tools and production cells between plants in Ontario, Quebec and the US. Tall pieces go on a step deck or double drop, and anything that can't get wet rides in a Conestoga.
What we haul
Stamping dies and die sets, presses, robots and robot cells, CNC machines and machine tools, conveyors, electrical cabinets and skidded production equipment. Most of it moves plant to plant.

How a machinery move goes
- You send the piece, its crated dimensions and weight, the tie down points and both addresses. Dispatch quotes it and names the trailer.
- We don't carry ramps. Your rigger loads the piece from a dock, with a loader or by crane, and our driver chains and blocks it.
- For anything over legal width or height, dispatch pulls the permits, books the escort and quotes after checking the route.
- The driver calls the receiving plant before arrival so the rigger is ready.

Shutdown and weekend moves
Automotive customers call us for rush die and machinery moves during shutdowns and on weekends. A die needed on the press Monday can go Saturday, and the plant gets a Samsara link to watch it come in.
Questions shippers ask
Step deck or double drop, which one?
A step deck takes a piece up to 120 inches tall on its 42 inch drop. Anything taller rides in the 32 ft well of a double drop. Send the crated height and weight and dispatch picks the trailer.
Can you move dies between Ontario and US stamping plants?
Yes, dies between Ontario, Michigan, Ohio and Indiana plants are regular work for us. We cross at Detroit and Buffalo, we're CTPAT validated and PIP and FAST approved, and we file the ACE and ACI eManifests.
How is machinery secured?
Chained at the lifting or tie down points and blocked front and rear. Cribbing goes under the base when the shipper asks, and rubber belting under chains on finished surfaces.
Can the load stay dry?
If it fits under the cover, it rides dry in a Conestoga. Pieces up to 120 inches tall can ride on a curtainside step deck, and taller ones can go in the well of a curtainside double drop. On an open deck we tarp on request, or the shipper shrink wraps it.
