Heavy loads on 1 truck
Coil, ingots, structural steel and stone moving inside Ontario often weigh more than a tandem can legally carry. A tandem tops out at 45,000 lb of payload. Our 6 axle units carry up to 86,000 lb inside Ontario, and the 4 axle units run heavier loads into Quebec. We run 16 of these multi axle curtainsides. Cross border and port pickups from the same fleet
The trucks that run Ontario also cross the border. Tandems run into Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Indiana and Kentucky through Detroit and Buffalo. The 6 axle runs into Michigan, Ohio and Indiana through Detroit only. Dispatch files the ACE or ACI eManifest on every cross border load. You use your own customs broker. See cross border flatbed.

What does a flatbed carrier in Ontario haul?
Steel coil, plate and structural steel, aluminum extrusions and ingots, pipe, lumber and building products, machinery and dies, construction equipment and anything else loaded from the side or the top. We run open flatbeds, Rolltites (Conestogas), step decks, double drops and 4 and 6 axle units.
How far is next day?
500 miles from the GTA. That covers Southern Ontario, Ottawa, Sudbury, Sault Ste Marie, Montreal and Quebec City. Dispatch gives transit times for Thunder Bay and Western Canada with the quote.
Why does the multi axle matter for Ontario freight?
Ontario allows more weight on more axles. Our 6 axle carries up to 86,000 lb inside Ontario, against 45,000 lb on a tandem. A heavy coil, ingot or stone order that often takes 2 trucks can move on 1.
Do you do same day in the GTA?
Often, since the trucks are based in Mississauga, but it is never guaranteed. Call dispatch with the dock and the load.
Flatbed, flatdeck or open deck: is there a difference?
Flatbed and flatdeck are the same trailer. Flatbed is the common word in Ontario, and flatdeck is used more out west. Open deck covers flatbeds, step decks and double drops together.
Do you run tarped flatbed loads?
Yes, on request. For freight that has to stay dry we usually send a Rolltite (Conestoga) instead, so nobody tarps and the cover closes over the load.
