What moves in Woodstock
A lot of Oxford County freight is automotive: parts, stamping dies and machinery for assembly and supplier plants, and the coil and plate that feeds the presses. Die moves and plant shutdowns
Plant shutdowns and weekend die moves are normal work for us, and dispatch picks up the phone at any hour. Send the die size, the weight and the window. Height picks the trailer: up to 102 inches rides dry in a Conestoga, up to 120 inches rides legal on one of our 4 step decks, and taller goes in the 32 ft well of one of our 3 double drops. Where the 401 and 403 split
The 403 joins the 401 at Woodstock, so freight here can run east either way. The 401 goes straight to the GTA and our yard. The 403 runs through Brantford to Hamilton, which suits coil coming from the Hamilton mills. Trucks already running the 401 pick up in Woodstock on the way.
