Structural steel and rebar hauling, fabricator to jobsite
Fission Logistics runs structural steel and rebar out of Mississauga to fabricators and jobsites. Long beams and columns go on an open flatbed so the crane can pick them from the top. Plate, rebar and short pieces ride dry in a Conestoga, loaded from the side. The driver calls the site before arriving, so the crane is ready when the truck pulls in.
What we haul
Wide flange beams, columns, angle, channel, plate, hollow structural sections and rebar, bundled or loose. Mill or service centre to fabricator, then fabricator to jobsite.

How we secure structural steel
- Timbers go under the load every 8 ft, with wood blocking between bundles and between tiers.
- Beams and columns are chained. Rebar is chained or strapped to your spec. Edge protectors go at every contact point.
- The top tier is secured every 8 ft, nothing goes above the bulkhead, and loose gear is put away before the truck moves.
- Drivers follow Fission's written securement procedure for each product.
Jobsite delivery
Give dispatch the site address, gate hours, site contact and crane window when you book. If the site isn't ready when the truck arrives, dispatch calls you.
Lanes
We deliver to fabricators and jobsites in Hamilton, the GTA, Kitchener and Cambridge, Windsor and London. US loads cross at Detroit or Buffalo into Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Indiana and Kentucky.
Questions shippers ask
Can you haul beams longer than the trailer?
Yes. Overlength pieces go on an open flatbed with flags, signs and permits for Ontario and every US state on the route. Give dispatch the piece length. Permitted loads are quoted after dispatch checks the route.
Do you deliver to construction sites?
Yes, it's routine. Send the site address, gate hours, site contact and crane window, and the driver calls the site before arriving.
Open deck or Conestoga for structural steel?
Conestoga for plate, short beams and rebar that need to stay clean. Open flatbed for long beams, columns and anything taller than the curtain frame, tarped if you want it.
How is rebar secured?
Bundles sit on timbers with wood blocking between them, chained or strapped to your spec and never below the legal minimum. Nothing is stacked above the bulkhead.
