Pipe hauling, loose and bundled
Fission Logistics hauls loose and bundled pipe from Mississauga to pipe yards, distributors and jobsites. Loose pipe wants to roll, so every tier sits on timbers every 8 ft with wedges nailed on both sides. Bare pipe goes on an open flatbed when the crane needs the top. Coated pipe rides in a Conestoga, kept off the deck and away from the chains, so the coating arrives clean.
What we haul
Line pipe, casing and tubing for oil and gas. Water main and sewer pipe for municipal work. Structural pipe for fabricators. It comes coated or bare, loose or in mill bundles, and goes from the mill or coater to a distributor, a pipe yard or a jobsite. A lot of those jobsites have no dock, and that's normal for us.

How we secure pipe
- Loose pipe: 4 by 4 timbers go down every 8 ft with wedges nailed on one side. The first pipe rolls tight to the wedges, the rest are laid in, and wedges are nailed on the other side. Each tier is chained or strapped to your spec and never below the legal minimum.
- Bundled pipe: bundles sit on timbers with wood blocking between them. The next tier goes on timbers directly above the first, and both tiers are secured over the top every 8 ft.
- The truck is on level ground before loading starts. Coated pipe is slippery when it's wet or icy, so it gets extra blocking front and rear. Nothing goes above the bulkhead.

Lanes
Sarnia and Alberta are our oil and gas pipe lanes. Windsor and Essex County, the GTA and Hamilton take jobsite, distributor and fabricator loads. Cross border, pipe moves to and from Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Indiana and Kentucky.

Can coated pipe travel without scuffing?
Yes. It rides on timbers with wood blocking between pieces, and edge protection keeps the coating away from the chains.

Never above the trailer's bulkhead.

Yes, both ways, through Detroit and Buffalo.
