The ask

West Virginia is an on request lane for Fission, not a daily one. The stamper needed a carrier that would take a single heavy coil, run it through the border without a hand off and have it on the floor the next day.

How the coil rode

Every load sat under tandem weight, so each was its own truck. The coil sat in racks on beveled timbers, eye to the side, chained through the eye with protectors at every contact point, inside a Conestoga with the curtain closed.

The border and the road

From northern West Virginia the run is Interstate 79 north to Interstate 90 at Erie, east to Buffalo, across the Peace Bridge or Lewiston to Queenston, then the QEW and 401 to Cambridge. Dispatch filed the ACI eManifest before the bridge and the stamper's broker cleared the coil.

What the stamper got

Five loads on an on request lane, with one Samsara link per load. The lane is on Ontario to West Virginia flatbed; the southbound trucks that deliver there bring freight like this home.
