40 loads of port steel from Camden and Gloucester to Ontario in 2 and a half weeks
In late February and the first half of March 2023 a Woodstock, Ontario service centre and plants in Mississauga and Stoney Creek had steel landing at the Camden and Gloucester City terminals on the Delaware River. Fission delivered 40 truckloads in 2 and a half weeks, up to 8 trucks a day, 45,000 lb a truck, in bond under its own US Customs bond with a TWIC driver at every gate. Camden gives 5 working days of free time, so trucks were booked against the discharge date.

A real move from Fission's order history, February and March 2023. Shippers and receivers are described by type, never named. Load counts are delivered loads; weights, trailers and pickup dates are from the dispatch records.

The ask
Port steel costs money every day it sits. Camden gives 5 working days of free time, and 40 loads in 2 and a half weeks is 3 to 8 trucks a day at the gate. Fission put trucks against the discharge date so the steel left the terminal inside the free time.
The gate
Gloucester closes its gate at 4 pm and lists no weekend hours, so the eModal appointment was booked before each truck left Mississauga. Every driver on the lane holds a TWIC card. Camden's Balzano and Broadway terminals work the same way: pickup number, vessel and discharge date in hand before the truck rolls.
In bond to Ontario
US port steel bound for Canada moves in bond, under Fission's own US Customs bond, so the importer did not need a US entry. The importer's broker cleared it into Canada at Buffalo, where dispatch had filed the ACI eManifest before the bridge. Coil rides in a Conestoga; plate and long product ride open.
What the importer got
40 loads in 2 and a half weeks inside the free time, one carrier for both terminals and one tracking link per load. The free time and gate rules for every port we serve are on port trucking, with the Camden detail on Philadelphia and Camden and Gloucester Marine Terminal.
