Refractory brick from a Kentucky plant to Quebec, 5 loads in 3 days
A refractory products plant in Kentucky ships brick and shapes on skids to an industrial plant southwest of Montreal. Fission delivered 5 loads picked up over 3 days in March 2023, 3 of them on the same day, 10 skids and 43,450 to 43,803 lb a truck, across the border, the length of the 401 and into Quebec on one truck with no hand off.

A real move from Fission's order history, February and March 2023. Shippers and receivers are described by type, never named. Load counts are delivered loads; weights, trailers and pickup dates are from the dispatch records.

The ask
Refractory brick is dense, fragile at the corners and ruined by water. The plant needed one carrier to take skidded loads from the Ohio River to the St. Lawrence without a cross dock in between and without a tarp touching the skids.
How it rode
Ten skids a truck, strapped over the top with edge protection, inside a Conestoga. The roof and curtains close over the skids, so the brick stayed dry through 2 countries in late winter and the forklift unloaded from the side. 43,450 lb sits inside tandem weight on both sides of the border.
The border and the road
The run goes north through Ohio to the border, where dispatch had filed the ACI eManifest and the receiver's broker cleared the load, then the 401 past Toronto and Kingston to the Quebec line and the 20 into Quebec. Trucks that deliver in Quebec load steel or aluminum for the trip back to Ontario.
What the plant got
Five loads on one carrier, one tracking link per load and a truck that was already running Quebec as a regular lane. The lanes are on Ontario to Kentucky flatbed and Ontario to Quebec and Western Canada, with a French page at transport par plateau Ontario Québec.
